Elving J. Kjellstrom

OREGON-Elving J. Kjellstrom, age 89, of Oregon, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Waunakee Manor. He was born on August 18, 1922, in Rockford, Ill., the son of Joel and Elna Kjellstrom.
Elving married Marjorie Hetrick on Sept. 8, 1945, in Rockford, Ill. After graduation from Rockford High School, he proudly flew P51 Mustangs in the Army Air Corp during WWII. After the war, he and Marge came to Oregon and together founded Wisco Industries. Elving was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Oregon Rotary Club, Oregon Chamber of Commerce, Oregon Masonic Lodge #151, and the Zor Shriners and Jesters. He was proud of his Swedish heritage and enjoyed traveling the world with Marge.
Elving is survived by four sons, Dennis, Gary (Renee), Randy (Lisa), and Doug (Anne Tilley); grandchildren, Kim, Ryan, Lynn, Jessica, Amie, Erin, Joseph, Alex, Isabella, and Allison; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Collin, Lauren, Dhea, Lexi, Brittany, Brek, Brinlee, Cammron, Jayce, and Stella; brother, Roger (Marjorie); and special friend, Dottie Thomson. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marge; sister, Eleanor Wormley; and great-grandson, Mason Machotka.
Funeral services for Elving will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park Street, Oregon on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Prairie Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be at the OREGON MASONIC CENTER, 201 Park Street, Oregon on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a Masonic service at 8 p.m., and also at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Masonic Lodge 151.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Waunakee Manor for the loving care he was given. Elving was a successful business owner, but his greatest accomplishment was being a wonderful father to four sons.
