Elizabeth E. “Betty” Sutton

Elizabeth E. “Betty” Sutton age 99, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012 at the Columbus Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Columbus. She was born on May 4, 1913 in Plainfield to Rhyna and Mary (Peoneke) Everett.
Betty was married to Harvey Sutton on May 9, 1936 in Waukegan, IL. She was employed at the Columbus Hospital in patient care services, and for many years provided home care to the elderly. Betty enjoyed baking, knitting and gardening. She dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren. Betty was a member of St. Jerome Church.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Jackie) of DeForest; her daughter-in-law, Sandra Sutton of Columbus; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Arnie Everett; three sisters, Alice Cerro and Helen (Wayne) Jacobson and Mary Ann Haarklaw, all of Madison; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1985; two sons, John and William; one daughter, Alice Sutton; four brothers, Martin, Frank, Richard and Ray Everett; two sisters, Louise Jerisha and Millie Metcalf.
A memorial mass will be held at 12:00 P.M., with visitation beginning at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 29, 2012 at ST JEROME CATHOLIC CHURCH, Columbus. Rev. Steve Kortendick will officiate. Inurnment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Columbus. A special thanks to her nieces, Chris and Kathy for all the joy they brought to Betty over the many years.
Also, a special thank you Sister Kathleen Conlin for her many visits and to Lori Stafford and the staff at the Columbus nursing home for their compassionate care. Memorials may be directed to St. Jerome Church or the Columbus Senior Center.
