Elaine Buechner

CROSS PLAINS-Elaine Catherine Buechner, age 72, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 following a courageous 11 year battle with ovarian cancer.
Born on June 6, 1939, in Madison, the oldest daughter of Matt and Hazel (Aeschbach) Rauls, Elaine was united in marriage to Tony Buechner on October 17, 1959. She was an active member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women. Elaine was a dedicated, hardworking employee with Kohl’s Department Store for over 26 years. She was passionate about spending time with family and friends, enjoyed traveling, and was an avid Badger and Packer fan.
Elaine is survived by her children, Joan (Rocky) Acker, Mike Buechner, Dale Buechner, Terry (Sue) Buechner, Doug (Mari) Buechner, Jane (Rich) Roberts, and Judy Buechner; 13 grandchildren, Jennifer (Adam) Schmidt, Michelle (Jarrod) Vande Hey, Wesley (Brittany Dawson) and Ramsey Acker, Dana (Tim Schmock), Travis, Matt, Dan, Ryan, Garrett, and Gabie Buechner, and Morgan and Rachael Roberts; two great-grandchildren, Rylan and Brayden Schmidt; two sisters, Jan (Steve) Reid and Barb (John) Rhyner; her inlaws, Edith Buechner, Sr. Mary Buechner, Dolores Ripp, Andy Buechner, Gilbert Stephan, Bill Plendyl, Charlie and Louise Buechner and Rosie Johnson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Tony and inlaws, Florian Buechner, Lorina “Blondie” Buechner, Jerome Ripp, Adella Buechner, Cyrilla Stephan, Betty Plendyl, and Ken Johnson.
She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARTIN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5959 St. Martin Circle in Martinsville at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 23, 2012 with Father Brian Dulli presiding. Visitation will be at St. Martin’s on Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and also on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc.
