Edward G. “Eddie” Albrecht

Edward George “Eddie” Albrecht, age 76, passed away on Friday, June 8th, 2012.
Edward was born on June 22, 1935, the son of Edward and Stella (Fadness) Albrecht. He left home at a young age to work on the railroad. He met and married his wife Peggy and together they started a family in Summit Lake, then in the mid 1960’s they moved to Madison. Edward worked for the Madison Metropolitan School district as a Groundskeeper for many years, eventually retiring in 1995. In his spare time, he was an avid fisherman, hunter, and a lover of animals, especially his “feathered friends”. He also loved gardening, making maple syrup and wine, canning food from his garden, watching the Packers and the Badgers, and every Sunday he looked forward to breakfast with his family and friends.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Peggy; brother Jim and sisters Hazel and Judy; his stepfather Earl, and son-in-law Troy.
He is survived by his children Kathy (Tim) Peat, Scott (Shelly) Albrecht, Mark (Lori) Albrecht, and Gail Ziegler; grandchildren Cory, Jason, Annie, Nicole, Tyler and Andrea; great grandchildren Austin, Nevaeh, Evan, Emma, Audrey, Marcus and Abby; his siblings Arlene, Beverly and Jerry; and also his special friend MaryAnn.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the funeral home from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and also on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona.
