Edward “Butch” Rought

Edward A. “Butch” Rought Jr, age 74, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at UW Hospital.
He was born on August 13, 1942, in Madison, WI, the son of Edward and Ruth (Warner) Rought. Butch graduated from Madison East High School in 1960, and was employed as a Manufacturing Engineer at Bou-Matic for over 30 years, retiring in 2006.
Butch enjoyed classic cars, a good joke, watching boxing, singing, and listening to Elvis.
Survivors include his two sons, Russell (Tricia) Rought and Darin Rought; his daughter, Kristine (Kyle) Brophy; his former wife, Mary Rought; a brother, John (Diane) Rought; two sisters, Eleanor Rought, Terri Allee; nine Grandchildren; Kathryn Johnson, Kylie Brophy, Kyra Brophy, Madison Rought, Ireland Rought, Draake Rought, Sapphire Stellflue, Eon Rought and Camryn Rought; his special friend, June Marie Gaudreau; and other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Carroll; his brother Richard and his parents.
Visitation will be held at 9:30am on Monday, July 10, 2017 at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr, Madison, followed by memorial services at 11:00 am. Interment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park.
