Drunken driver injures 2 in 3-car Middleton crash, officials say
As suspected drunken driver was arrested in connection with a Friday evening crash that injured two people in Middleton, officials said.
Middleton police said officers responded to a report of a crash with injuries on Greenway Boulevard near US Highway 12 at 6:24 p.m.
Officers found a three-vehicle wreck and two drivers with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a news release.
A third driver, 44-year-old Gopikrishna Potnuru, of Middleton, told officers he had been drinking alcohol, police said. Potnuru was put through field sobriety tests and arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated causing injury, a felony charge.
The injured drivers were taken to hospitals by Middleton EMS.
Police checking his driver’s license status found he had a prior arrest for operating while intoxicated. Potnuru was taken to jail.
