State Patrol: Passenger caught, not cooperating

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin State Patrol is looking for the driver of a car who led a pursuit on Interstate 39/90 and Madison’s east side Tuesday night.

A release from the State Patrol said a trooper tried stopping the car at mile marker 146 westbound at 11:13 p.m. for failing to stop at a stop sign when getting on the interstate, but the car didn’t stop.

The car turned onto the westbound Beltline, went north on Stoughton Road before making a U-turn and heading south toward McFarland. The car turned into a parking lot and the driver fled. A female passenger was taken into custody, according to the release.

Other agencies helped search for the driver, who was not found and has not been identified. The State Patrol told News 3 the passenger has not been cooperative in identifying the driver.
