Driver of pickup traveling under speed limit faces 4th OWI

A Stoughton man is facing a felony repeat drunken driving charge after a deputy saw him traveling under the speed limit, a report says.

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy saw a 1997 Chevrolet pickup truck at 2:30 a.m. moving erratically and going less than the speed limit on County Road N in the town of Pleasant Springs.

According to the report, the driver, 67-year-old James A. Gryzynger, pulled over to the side of the road near Koshkonong Road before the deputy initiated a traffic stop.

The deputy spoke with Gryzynger and could smell the odor of intoxicants, the sheriff’s office said. Gryzynger was given field sobriety tests, then booked into the Dane County Jail on a tentative charge of fourth-offense OWI.
