Driver killed following car crash on I-39

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Wis. — A crash involving three vehicles left one man dead on highway I-39 near Portage on Friday.
The Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the report of a crash on Interstate 39 at 3:35 p.m. which resulted in the fatality of a 37-year-old male.
According to officials, a red sedan was traveling south at a fast speed. The sedan entered the median ditch and overturned after sideswiping a pick-up truck.
The driver of the red sedan was ejected and came to rest in the northbound lanes of I-39. The driver was then hit by a car traveling north.
Columbia County Sheriff’s say there were numerous complaints of the red sedan reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour.
Assisting at the scene was Columbia County Sheriff, Columbia Divine Savior EMS, Portage Fire and Columbia County Medical Examiner.
