DOT: Traffic patterns to change in construction area on Beltline

Verona Road construction officially delayed, DOT says

Traffic changes are expected in the construction area on the Beltline between Whitney Way and Seminole Highway later this week.

Northbound Verona Road traffic heading toward the eastbound Beltline will shift onto new pavement Tuesday night, according to a release. Traffic signals will be installed to direct traffic making the right turn onto the Beltline ramp.

Officials said delays may occur as motorists adjust to the new traffic pattern.

On Friday night, traffic on the eastbound Beltline ramp lanes, between Whitney Way and Verona Road, will be shifted onto new pavement, according to the release.

Nighttime lane closures are scheduled from 9 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday on the eastbound Beltline from Whitney Way to Seminole Highway and on Verona Road from Raymond Road to the Beltline, officials said. The ramp from Whitney Way to the eastbound Beltline and the ramp from the eastbound Beltline to Verona Road will be closed during that time.

Starting next week, crews will start building the new eastbound Beltline bridge over Verona Road just to the south of the existing bridge, according to the release. Two lanes of the Beltline will remain open in each direction, but periodic nighttime lane closures are scheduled.
