DOT: Merrimac Ferry closes for season
MERRIMAC, Wis. — The Merrimac Ferry closed for the season Saturday afternoon due to ice on the Wisconsin River, officials said.
When the ferry is open, it serves as Highway 113 across the Wisconsin River and runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week between Okee in Columbia County and Merrimac in Sauk County.
The ferry will reopen in 2017 when it can safely cross the river.
