DOT: 2 parts of Highway 73 will be closed until September

Two sections of Highway 73 near Deerfield and Edgerton will be closed to through traffic until September, according to a release.

The closures are scheduled to start Monday for crews to work on two areas:

Highway 73 from Interstate 39/90 (exit 160 near Edgerton) north to Highway 106 intersection
Ramps at the Interstate 39/90 and Highway 73/51 interchange will stay open
Highway 73 between Fadness Road and Highway 12/18 near Cambridge and Deerfield

Access to local businesses and residences will stay open during the construction, according to the release.

Officials urge drivers to use alternate routes, including the signed detour route on Interstate 39/90 and Highway 12/18.
