Dorothy Pile Schuerman

Dorothy Pile Schuerman, age 89, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 7, 2012 in her home. She was born on May 21, 1922 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin to Atty. J. Charles Pile and Helen Howard Pile, formerly of Rifle, Colorado. She graduated from Dodgeville High School, valedictorian of her class, in 1939. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she majored in English and minored in French and Spanish, and graduated from there in 1943. She taught English and Spanish in the high school at Delavan, Wisconsin from 1943 to 1944. The following two years she taught English and Spanish at the Richland Center High School On June 1, 1946, she married Ralph M. Schuerman of Richland Center, where they lived and raised their family of four daughters until Ralph passed away on May 14, 1993. In July of that year, she moved to Madison to be near two of her daughters who lived there. She lived in Madison for three years. In July, 1996, she moved to Tucson, Arizona to be near another daughter. After her husband, family and home, her special interests were music and literature.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She is survived by four daughters: Margaret (Greg) Davis of Lodi, Wisconsin
Nancy (Max) Machotka of Madison, Wisconsin
Virginia Schuerman of Tucson, Arizona
Barbara (Chris) Kirsh of Tucson, Arizona

Aaron (Jenny) Machotka of Windsor, Wisconsin

Dorothy was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Richland Center. A private family service was held at the Pratt Funeral Home in Richland Center with burial in the Richland Center Cemetery.
