Dorothy Ann Cottrell

Dorothy Ann Cottrell, age 96 of Oxford, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, Wisconsin.

Memorial funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Oxford Seventh Day Adventist Church with Stanley Cottrell, Wendell Springer, and Christian Ronalds officiating. Private burial will be at the Poysippi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s honor may be made to the Oxford SDA church.

Dorothy was born August 13, 1915 at the home place north of Oxford by Fenner Lake the daughter of Fred and Augusta (Stroschein) Henke. Dorothy’s beloved husband, Sterling, was killed in a plane crash in 1946 not long after their fourth child was born. It was not easy, but she did an excellent job raising her three sons and one daughter. She worked hard at many different jobs to support her family. Dorothy was active in the Adventist church serving as church pianist/organist for many years. She is remembered as always having a smile and great sense of humor. Dorothy left behind a family both sad for her passing and joyful for her full life well lived. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her children, Calvin, Evan, Stanley, and Muriel; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. 06/06/2012
