Marshall / Deerfield – Doreen G. Holzhueter, age 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 29, 2017.

Doreen was born on June 24, 1929 in the town of Lake Mills. She was the oldest child of Edward and Gladys (Behm) Radloff, followed by 7 brothers and 1 sister. While Doreen was growing up, the family lived on farms in the Lake Mills area. She and her future husband Willard met when she was 15 years old. She graduated from Deerfield High School. She and Willard were married on April 12, 1947. Together they lived and farmed on the Holzhueter family farm in the town of Deerfield until moving to Marshall in the 1990’s. Doreen was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Deerfield, since her marriage, and a loyal member of the church’s Ladies Aid Society. Family was very important to her. She had a notebook, which she kept updated with names, births, and deaths of family members, and she was a prime source for doing Holzhueter, Strauss, Radloff, and Behm family histories.

She is survived by her children Allen (Kate), Madison, Lynn (Shirley), Waterloo, David (Kathy), Waterloo, and Susan (Willie) Davis, Madison. She is also survived by one brother, Marvin Radloff; sisters-in-law Nancy Radloff and Corinne Radloff; one aunt, Ida Behm; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Doreen was preceded in death by her husband, Willard; parents, Edward and Gladys Radloff; 6 brothers, Gordon, Donald, Roland, Wayne, Carroll, and Edward Jr.; sister, Joan Kimpel; sister-in-law, Orma Jean Radloff; and 2 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 138 Cty Rd BB, Deerfield. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Doreen will be laid to rest next to her husband at Kroghville Cemetery. Following the services, family and friends are invited to a meal in the church fellowship hall.
