Donald E. “Don” Robb, age 89, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born on Feb. 21, 1928, in Madison, the son of George Robb and Sena Mickleson. Don attended East High School, graduating in 1946. Following High School, he worked as an orderly at University Hospital. Don was a kind, patient man who loved to teach, going on to instruct elementary and secondary education in Madison and Brodhead, and at Consolidated School District for rural youth. He was a devoted friend who, after retirement, dedicated 20 years of his life helping his friend, Orville. Don was inherently generous, always ready with sage advice, a helping hand, and a kind word. He was a talented artist, excelling at many mediums, including painting and sculpting. Don was especially interested in the human form, which showed in his various works. He was a compassionate person who loved all creatures. Donald is survived by his sister, Helen Carr; brother, Harold (Dorris) Robb; niece, Donna (Kirk) Anderson; and his friend and caregiver, Matt Vesely. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Florence (Peter) Raggio; brother, George Robb; brother-in-law, Ludwig Carr; and special friend, Orville Dusso.
