Dolores Kingsbury Sorenson

DEFOREST – Dolores Kingsbury Sorenson, age 82, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 7, 2012. Dolores was born on November 26, 1929 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Laurence Bishop and Violet (Tripp) Kingsbury. She attended school in Marshalltown until 8th grade when her family relocated to Madison where she attended Madison West High School. Dolores then attended University of Wisconsin for two years. She married Robert Dearth Jr. in September 1949. Dolores raised her family and held several office manager positions until her retirement in 1992. She was a generous contributor to many humane societies. She especially enjoyed collecting sea shells, playing bridge with her friends, tending her garden and identifying the bird visitors to her feeders. Dolores loved all things in the natural world.

She is survived by her children Geoffrey Dearth of DeForest and Licia (Harry) Ilkka of Spring Green. Grandchildren Alison (Kevin) Jacobson of Richland Center and Geoffrey (Anna) Ilkka of Madison. Great grandchildren Kevin Patrick Jacobson of Richland Center and Carlin Ilkka of Madison. Brother Wallace (Jean) Kingsbury of Brick, New Jersey and their children Michael, Theresa and Keri Ellen. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be held at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest, at 3:00PM on Friday July 13, 2012. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:00PM until of service on Friday.
