Diane Elizabeth Bachmann

MADISON – Diane Elizabeth Bachmann, age 66, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021.
She was born on Oct. 25, 1954, in Madison, the daughter of Gottfried and Ruth (Frazier) Bachmann.
Diane graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1972. In 1980, Diane and her brother, Fred Bachmann joined the family business, alongside their brother Allan Bachmann at Bachmann Construction Company, Inc. which was started by their parents, the same year Diane was born. Diane was a natural leader with her accounting expertise and in 1985, she was appointed president. With Diane’s guidance, the company became an asset to the private construction industry. In 2015, she began retirement to enjoy more time with her family and friends.
Diane was one of the kindest people with a memorable laugh and fun personality. She was very adventurous and loved traveling. Striking up conversations came easily for her, so it was no surprise that she made new friends wherever she went. Diane was very creative and enjoyed making crafts, knitting, quilting, sewing and mending items for her family, friends and coworkers. Diane was also a great cook, and as time went on, her diet and recipes became even more creative and healthy. She loved reading Steven King books and solving sudoku and puzzles. She liked listening to music-especially Bon Jovi and-attending concerts. Diane loved cheering for the Packers and Badgers football and hockey. She was a devoted cat mom to her feline babies, KiKi, Cheddar, Goldie and Mookie and she loved spending her time riding her special horse, Chase.
Diane is survived by her sister, Debra “Annie” Bachmann; brothers, Allan (Robin) and Fred (Kiya) Bachmann; three nieces, Naomi (Brian) Kroth, Ashley (Kyle) Kampmeier and Carmen Cruz; two nephews, Noah Bachmann and David Bachmann; great-niece and great-nephews, Eden and Maren Kroth and Knox Kampmeier; and her close friends who were her second family, Donna Ciciva and her family, Diane Ruesch and her family and Dionne Moore and her family. Diane is further survived by many loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her best friend, Geri Moore.
