Delores M. Powers

MADISON-Delores M. Powers, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

She was born on June 7, 1929, in Madison, the daughter of Elsie and Adolph Handel. Delores married Charles “Charlie” Powers on Nov. 6, 1948, in Madison. She loved gardening and spending time with her family of whom she was deeply proud.

Delores loved animals especially her cats. She was giving to many charities.

Delores is survived by her husband, Charlie; sons, Gene (Sue) Powers and Bruce Powers; daughter, Tammy-Lynn Powers; and grandchildren, Derek, Ryan, Sydney and Caitlin. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; and her oldest son, William.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2016, with Fr. Randy Timmerman presiding. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the service on Sunday.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Calvin Bruce and the staff at Wildwood Clinic, the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and Belmont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and to Home Health United for all the care they gave to Delores.
