Debra Sheil

Debra Sheil, 65, passed away Wednesday May 3, 2017, hearing thoughts and prayers sent from her loved ones, with her sister and brother-in-law by her side.

She was under the care of Infinity Hospice and Mountain View Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carson City, Nevada.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday June 14, 2017 at the Picha Funeral Home in Lake Delton, Wisconsin. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m.

Debra was born March 28 1952, in Baraboo, Wisconsin to Rosemary (Rooney) Sheil and James Durwood Sheil. She was the baby sister to 5 siblings.

As a child, Debra lived in Baraboo, Reedsburg, and Lake Delton. She graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School in 1970. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1974 with majors in Criminal Justice and Social Work. After graduation, she lived in Washington, California, Wisconsin and Nevada.

Debra loved nature and animals. She worked as a Park Ranger and lived in Davis Creek Regional Park, located in the foothills of the Carson Range in Washoe City, Nevada. She adopted and provided safe haven to many retired police dogs after their time of service. She enjoyed hiking, traveling and hanging out with her cats.

Ms. Sheil is survived by three sisters, Sharon Kehoe, Diane (Jim) Jacobson, and Linda (Kevin) Anderson, two brothers, Wayne (LaNita) Sheil and Pat Sheil, and lifelong friend Marshia Meister-Horkan. She was proud to be selected as Godmother to Teresa Jacobson-Phaneuf, and enjoyed her 14 nieces and nephews, and 16 grand nieces and nephews. Debra was preceded in death by her parents, two nephews, one niece and one great nephew.
