Dean D. Terrill

Dean DuWayne Terrill, Age 81, of Dodgeville and Mineral Point passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Banner University Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, due to complications following a stroke.
He was born in Dodgeville on September 25, 1934, the son of John Floyd and Rella Mae (Ferrell) Terrill. He graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1953. He married Carole Ann Symons on August 23, 1953. They owned and operated a dairy farm in Mineral Point until 1975. That farm was ranked highly by the Wisconsin Dairy Herd Information Association (DHIA) because of his outstanding management abilities. He was also awarded The Outstanding Young Farmer in 1965.
On December 13, 1980, he married Mary Esch of Dodgeville. His career after farming kept him in close contact with the farming community when he became a Field Representative for Universal Foods, Stella Cheese and Grande Cheese until he retired in 1997. After retirement they decided to explore Canada and the US and have been to every state except Hawaii. They have owned numerous motorhomes and were camp hosts at Governor Dodge Campground for many summers. In 2005 they built a home in Arizona City, AZ for the winters and also have a home in Dodgeville, WI for the summers.
Dean was a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge #1 in Mineral Point. He was also a member of the Lions Club of Dodgeville where he received the Lion of the Year Award and volunteered for many years. Dean loved spending time with family and friends, playing cards, cheering for the Badgers and Packers, and having his nightly brandy.
Dean is survived by his wife, Mary; children: Mark (Neide) Terrill of Hartford; Marie (Jim) Coon of Peoria, AZ; Tami (Brad) Sailing of Madison; Lynn (Jim) Cowlin of Crystal Lake, IL; Laurie Forseth (Mike Martin) of Dodgeville; Larry (Mel) Forseth of Dodgeville; Lisa (John) Johnsrud of Dodgeville; Lee (Marsy) Forseth of Aurora, IL; David (Marsha) Mortimer of Dodgeville; sisters-in-law Margaret (Don) Dunbar of Dodgeville; Dorothy Jones of Grand Marsh and Mary Jane Esch of Brookfield; 26 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends from all over the country.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his two sons Gregory Alan and Todd Alan, brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Janice Terrill; brothers-in-law, Jack Jones and John Esch and a great grand-daughter, Ruby Lynn Green.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Dodgeville United Methodist Church. Pastor Jim Droste will officiate with burial in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home in Dodgeville and at the church on Saturday after 10:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to American Heart Association, Dodgeville Lions Club, IOOF #1 or the Dodgeville United Methodist Church.
