MADISON/SPRING GREEN-Dean Arlan Frederickson, age 87, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare.

He was born on Dec. 5, 1929, in Spring Green, the son of Carl and Ellen (Hansen) Frederickson. He married Patricia Parkinson on Dec. 26, 1955.

Dean proudly served with the U.S. Air National Guard. He was a partner in Madison Industrial X-Ray, and then went to work for Gardner Bakery and later Cuna Mutual Insurance. Dean’s passions were his family and golf. When missing in action he could be found at his second home, Door Creek Golf Course.

Dean is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia; children, Mary (Kevin) Hoffman, Michael (Ann), Lori (Melvin) Nonn, Susan (Scott) Matsen, John, Gary (Vicki) and Phillip (Kristin); 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four step-granddaughters; sister, Sharon (Ronald) Seely; sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Beverly; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wayne (Delores), Carl (Darlene) and Keith; great-granddaughter, Mackenzie; and step-grandson, Cory Nonn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday. A private family burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery at a later date.
