Darlington police asking for witnesses of fight at pool to come forward

DARLINGTON, Wis. — Darlington police are asking those who witnessed a fight at the Darlington Swimming Pool to share what they saw.
Police said a teenager was sent to the emergency room after a series of incidents that took place at the pool and nearby basketball courts. Police described video of the fight as “pretty graphic” and said the children who witnessed the incident may have found it disturbing.
The fight, which police described as isolated and rare, is under investigation. The teens involved were banned from Darlington parks. Anyone who witnessed the fight, especially those who might have video of it, is urged to speak to investigators by calling 608-776-4984.
Despite the fight, Wednesday’s “Build the Pool” party will proceed as scheduled starting at 8:30 p.m. Police said that there is no continuing threat to the community stemming from the incident. Officers will also be at the party to help serve root beer floats.
