Darlington man sentenced in child porn case

47-year-old pleads guilty to producing child porn

MADISON, Wis. — A Darlington man was sentenced Wednesday for production of child pornography, according to U.S. Attorney’s Office release.

Timmy Reichling, 47, was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison, followed by a life term of supervised release, officials said. He pleaded guilty to the charge on June 11.

In August 2013, state and local law enforcement officers executed search warrants on the property where Reichling was living, according to the release. Officials seized computers, cameras and other electronic equipment. After examining those items, investigators found sexually explicit pictures and videos of several female minors.

Evidence showed that Reichling obtained the images through various means, including posing as a teenage boy on the Internet and convincing teenage girls to send him nude pictures, then threatening to tell their families if they stopped. He also hid cameras in the homes of people who knew and trusted him, and captured sexually explicit pictures and videos of minor children living in or visiting the homes.

Reichling’s criminal sexual exploitation of children was continuous starting in 2008, according to the release.

The judge observed that Reichling took advantage of the young age of his victims, and his ability at his age to manipulate them and convince them to send him pictures, officials said.

Reichling also has pending charges in Lafayette County related to the case. A status conference for that case is set for Sept. 24.
