DARLINGTON, Wis. — A Darlington man was arrested twice in one day for allegedly driving while intoxicated.

Darlington police said the 24-year-old nearly struck a police car on Washington Street just after 5 a.m. on Sunday. He was also allegedly driving without a valid license, failed to yield the right-of-way and had no insurance.

Police said he was booked into jail but later released to a sober party.

Just after 12:30 p.m. that same day, he was arrested again for allegedly driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop on East Cornelia Street. He also faces charges of bail jumping.

News 3 Now is not naming the man at this time as part of a policy not to name people accused of crimes until they have been formally charged in court.
