Dane County bike ride raises funds for cancer research

MADISON, Wis. — Bikers across Dane County took to the trails to help fund cancer research at the University of Wisconsin, according to a press release from UW Health.
The Ride 2017 raised more than $300,000 for the Carbone Cancer Center thanks to more than 1,200 bikers in eastern Dane County. According to organizers, the event helps fund “cutting-edge research and programs” in cancer research.
“We would like to thank everyone for coming out for a wonderful day that focuses on cancer patients and families. Our mission is to accelerate cancer cures by funding promising research,” Dr. Deric Wheeler, associate professor of human oncology and director of The Ride, said.
