Dane County airport wins award for food program

MADISON, Wis. — The Dane County Regional Airport has been recognized as having some of the best airport food in the country.

The airport was awarded the best small airport food and beverage program by the Airport Council International- North America, according to a press release.

Helping tip the scales in the airport’s favor were its menus featuring local ingredients, grab-and-go food items and Wisconsin-themed shopping, the release said.

Earlier this year, a gastropub and wine and tapas bar opened inside the airport .
