Dallas R. Gardner

Dallas R. Gardner, 83, of Platteville, Wisconsin died on Sunday, December 18, 2022. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM, Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, Wisconsin. Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate. Dallas was born October 22, 1939 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Harry “Bill” and Kathryn (Johnson) Gardner. He was united in marriage to Patricia E. McPhail on November 30, 1957 at the Platteville Methodist Church, Platteville, Wisconsin.

When first married, he worked for Johnson Outboard Motors in Waukegan, Illinois. Then later became employed by John Deere Dubuque Works, retiring after 36 years in 1992 as a supervisor. Dallas enjoyed hunting, roller skating, bowling and fishing as a young man. Dallas was a good conversationalist.

Dallas is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia, sons, Jay and Rick, and daughter, Kim Minett; grandchildren David (Tiffany) Gardner, Blake Gardner, Andrew Gardner, Jesse Gardner, Brook Minett, Kylee Gardner and Devin Minett. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Daniel “Dino” Gardner.
