Dale S. White

Dale S. White, 74, of Platteville, died on Friday, April 13, 2012, at University Hospital, Madison, from injuries sustained in an accident.

Memorial services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Rev. Connie Matye will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Dale S. White Memorial Fund. Dale was born on December 23, 1937 in Ellenboro Twp., Grant County, son of John and Helen (Kuster) White. As a young man he worked at the Dubuque Pack and later sold cars. For many years he was a cross country truck driver for Freymiller Trucking out of Oklahoma City, where his call handle was “Sparky”. He was an avid Packer fan; he enjoyed dancing, gambling, detailing cars. He enjoyed hunting morels, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his children, Rich (Bonnie) White of Freeport, IL; Randy (Cindy) White of Rockford, IL; Russ (Michelle) White of Platteville; Rod (Cherry) White of Sierra Vista, AZ; Bart (Kara) White of Chesterfield, MI; Vickie (Scott) Deckard of Rockford; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lou (Ivan) Littlejohn of Gresham, OR; Lucette (Dennis) Cardey of Apple Valley, MN; three brothers, Davey White of Potosi, WI; Bill (Elizabeth) White of Platteville; Verlyn (Betty) White of Nashville, TN; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Richard and Eugene and sister-in-law, Donna White.
