Baez, Rizzo homer to pace Chicago
Cubs top Brewers, 4-2

Javier Baez and Anthony Rizzo homered off Kyle Lohse in the third inning to lead the Chicago Cubs to a 4-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers at Wrigley Field Wednesday night.

The Cubs jumped on Lohse with two runs in the first inning. Rizzo hit a sacrifice fly and Starlin Castro had an RBI single to make it 2-0.

In the third, Baez hit one out of the park over the left field wall and a batter later Rizzo connected for his 27th homer of the season for a 4-0 lead.

The Brewers couldn’t muster any offense against Cubs starter Tsuyoshi Wada (2-1) until the seventh.

That’s when Rickie Weeks hit his fifth homer of the season and Martin Maldonado followed with his third.

But the Brewers could get no closer than 4-2 as Hector Rondon closed out the game in the ninth for his 16th save of the season.

The Cubs have won two of the first three games of the series which concludes with a 1:20 pm CT start Thursday.
