Counterfeit money reports prompt business advisory from PD

Police warned McFarland businesses that fake money had been passed in the village over the last week.

In a news alert Friday, McFarland police said the department has taken three reports of counterfeit $100 that were passed at local businesses.

Police asked businesses to be vigilant about accepting $100 bills and suggested businesses use counterfeit bill detection tools such as a pen or light.
