Cletis R Pangle

Cletis (Clete) R. Pangle, 88, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 11, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Georgia nee Schultz for 46 years. He is survived by his devoted daughters, Lisa (Dan) Anthony, Teri (Wayne) Williams and Kelly (Greg) Caffero. He was the loving Gramps and Papa to Jack (Amy) Anthony, Nicole Anthony, Garrett Williams, Quinn (Gabriella) Williams, Taylor Anthony and Brianna Morales. He was blessed to be the Great Papa Pangle to Austin and Bryce Anthony. He is also survived by his cherished sister Lavonia Whitson. He was the fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Caroline and Hubert Pangle, brother Cecil Pangle and sister Buena Frisbee.
He was born May 13, 1934, in Hot Springs, NC. After serving in the Army from 1953 -1955 during the Korean Era, he moved to Chicago, and met and married Georgia. They resided in Franklin Park, IL for 40 years and raised their family. They retired to Mauston, WI in 2000. Clete was an active member of the Mauston United Methodist Church as well as the community. He loved his wood shop where he made swings and bird houses. He will be remembered for his generous hugs and warm smiles. Clete was a true follower of Jesus. He had a gift for seeking out those in need, helping them and making them feel valued.
Visitation will be held at Mauston United Methodist Church (420 Suszycki Dr. Mauston, Wi) on Friday, August 19, 2022, from 10:00 – 12:00 pm with the service immediately following. Burial will be at the Mauston Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the Tomah VA or the Mauston United Methodist Church.
