Clearinghouse Set Up For Recall Complaints

The Wisconsin Department of Justice and the state board that oversees elections said they are working together to investigate complaints related to the circulation of recall petitions targeting Gov. Scott Walker and four Republican state senators.

The Government Accountability Board said Thursday that all complaints should be filed with it.

The board said it will work with DOJ to review all the complaints and assigned to the proper local authorities.

The two agencies on Thursday held a meeting with district attorneys across the state to discuss the process.

Board director Kevin Kennedy said all reports of threats to people refusing to sign the petitions as well as intimidation of circulators and destruction of petitions are being taken seriously.
