Clarice M. Haefner

COLUMBUS–Clarice M. Haefner age 80, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the Columbus Community Hospital. She was born on April 13, 1937 in Columbus to Louis and Clara (Schroeder) Lee. She was married to Lloyd Jones on May 30, 1958 in Columbus and the couple had two children. Clarice worked at Borden’s Powdered Milk plant, Mietzel’s Bakery and the Meridian Corporation, all in Columbus. She retired from American Family Insurance as a supervisor. Clarice was married to John Haefner on May 22, 1971 in Columbus. She enjoyed tending her flower garden, talking politics, crocheting and creating arts & craft projects. Survivors include her son, Richard (Dawn) Jones of Fall River; her daughter Rhonda (Ken) Zick of North Freedom; a step-daughter Karen (Jeff) Behling of McFarland; seven grandchildren; Natasha & Preston Cook, Owen, Lily, Josh (Vickie) & Carol Jones and Melissa (Travis) Verbanac and four great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Shirley Lee and brother-in-law Wayne Armstrong, both of Columbus; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers Donald, Roland, Marvin, Kenny and Louis; two sisters Vivian Armstrong and Janet Gilmore.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 21, 2017 at HILLSIDE CEMETERY, Columbus. Rev. Robert Wilke will officiate.
