Clara Belle Burke-Grim

Clara Belle (Hardy) Burke-Grim, 79, of Prairie du Chien and Blue River, died Saturday, June 30, 2012 as the result of complications of a stroke. She was born October 12, 1932 the daughter of Oscar and Lora (Kite) Hardy. Clara attended several country schools and graduated from Blue River High School in 1950. She worked at the Blue River Telephone Office until 1956, at which time she became the secretary for Blue River Schools and continued there, retiring from Riverdale in 1996. Clara married Robert Burke on April 26, 1951 and he preceded her in death in 1962. A son, Dale, and daughter, Jill were born to this union. Clara was baptized in the Blue River United Methodist Church on April 7, 1963 and remained a friend of the church throughout her life. Later she married Fay Grim on April 20, 1996. Clara enjoyed spending time with family and friends, Badger Basketball, Brewers Baseball, card playing, ‘going to the boat,’ watching her kids play ball, and gardening. She had a deep faith in her Lord. Clara was a very loving and generous person who was known to show her wonderful sense of humor. Clara was an active member of the Blue River Alumni Committee for several years.
Clara is survived by her husband Fay of Prairie du Chien, daughter, Jill (Jim) Nankee of Blue River, grandson, Chad Nankee of Onalaska, brothers and sisters, Carol Dieter of Richland Center, Alice (Bill) Honer of Boaz, Lester Hardy of Kenosha, step-granddaughter, Lisa (Larry) Cooper of Missouri, step-children, Gary (Carol)Grim, Phillip Grim, Lorna (Stuart) Meyer all of Florida, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, son Dale, siblings, Lola, Agnes, Myrtle, Ervin, Gladys, Veda, Mildred, and Jeanette.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Blue River United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Basswood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Godager Pratt Funeral Home in Muscoda, on Friday, July 6, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again at the church on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM.
