City asks for public input this week on transportation master plan

Workshops will focus on streets, bike paths, walking conditions, neighborhoods

MADISON, Wis. — A series of design workshops will be held this week for the city of Madison’s Transportation Master Plan, Madison in Motion, according to a release.

The workshops will give residents from throughout the city the opportunity to share their ideas on how Madison can address its current and future transportation needs.

The workshops will be held at the Madison Senior Center at 330 W. Mifflin Street:

Monday: 12-5 p.m.
Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There will be a wrap-up presentation at the Thursday event from 6-8 p.m.

City engineers, planners and urban designers will be at the workshops looking for ideas on improving streets, bike paths and walking conditions, officials said. Residents will be asked to share their thoughts on how the city can build new neighborhoods, commercial areas and increase its tax base as well as improve public transit.
