Chihuahua gives birth to 11 puppies

A Chihuahua rescued from a hoarding situation recently gave birth to 11 puppies — a litter more than twice as big as what’s typical for the breed.
The Unleashed Rescue Group welcomed the massive litter on National Puppy Day March 23, KCTV reported. It breaks the world record of 10 puppies.
“One came out, one more came out — two, three and four more came out,” Josie Brown, who is fostering the puppies in Olathe, Kansas, told KCTV. “She was still round and obviously there were more puppies in there.”
The Chihuahua was in labor for more than 12 hours, KCTV reported.
“When we had about eight, we were like whoa she’s not done,” Danielle Reno, of Unleashed Pet Rescue, told KCTV. “And then we got an update that we were at 10 and we about had a heart attack.”
The mom and puppies are healthy and will be up for adoption in about 10 weeks.
