Chicago man faces multiple felony charges for shots fired on Megabus

A Chicago man faces multiple felony charges for allegedly discharging a firearm on a Megabus in Illinois that was bound for Madison Tuesday night.
The Illinois State Police said the bus was traveling on Interstate 90 in Des Plaines at 11:30 p.m. when a gun was fired into the restroom on the bus.
Police said that as Jacques L. Anderson, 27, walked down the aisle, a handgun fell from him, and passengers held him down until police arrived.
A passenger told police Anderson was bothering a woman on the bus and he stepped in to try to protect her.
Police said after the shot was fired in the bathroom, Anderson started harassing the driver, which is when passengers pinned him down.
Megabus officials said passengers were transferred to another bus, which continued on to Madison and eventually arrived in Minneapolis late Wednesday morning.
About 50 people were on the bus at the time, but no one was injured.
Anderson faces charges for armed violence, possession of a firearm by a felon, escape, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver, aggravated battery to a police officer, criminal damage to property and reckless discharge of a firearm.
He is being held on a $225,000 bond in Cook County.
