Chester Austin Luke

Chester Luke, age 90 of Lake Delton, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Sauk County Health Care Center in Reedsburg, Wisconsin with his loving family by his side.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Picha Funeral Home in Lake Delton followed by military rites provided by the Harold B. Larkin Post 187 of Wisconsin Dells. Visitation will be held Monday, January 28, 2013 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.
Chester was born January 16, 1923 in Warren, Illinois the son of Robert and Mary (Snyder) Luke. He served in the United States Army during World War 2 from March of 1943 and was stationed overseas in Scotland, Wales, England, France and Spain. He received 2 purple hearts from battle injuries and was honorably discharged in January of 1946. In May of 1946 he married Lois Decot in Baraboo, Wisconsin. He worked for many years for the Village of Lake Delton until his retirement. Chester enjoyed deer hunting until the age of 85 and fishing.
Chester is survived by his loving wife, Lois; a son, LeRoy (Debbie) Luke of Lake Delton; daughters, Gloria Luke of Lake Delton, Diane (Robert) Fletcher of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, and Beverly (Dave) Hudzinski of Verona, Wisconsin; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, LeRoy, Charles, Vernette, Gordon and Glen; sisters, Bernice Cady and Arvella Holmes; and a great grandson, Joey.
