Cathleen Youngs

MADISON-Cathleen Youngs, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Agrace HospiceCare after struggling with a Parkinson’s-like disease called Multiple System Atrophy.

Thanks to the staff and volunteers at Agrace, she passed peacefully in the company of family and friends.

Cathy was born in Poynette in 1949 to Victor and Ethel (Peschl) Cuff. She attended school in Poynette and at MATC. Cathy worked for many years at EDS Federal in Monona and later for the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services. She was known for showing kindness to others by hosting friends and family, supporting people with whatever they needed and sharing a good laugh and her bright smile with everyone she met, even in her last days. Cathy loved spending time tackling craft and needlework projects and getting outside to garden and walk. She especially enjoyed walking in the woods and fields near her childhood home.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Eldon; daughter, Renae (Jessica Rochester); uncle, David (Mary) Cuff of Stoughton; siblings, Phillip (Lynnette) Cuff of Clarksville, Tenn., Lea (Jim) Gough of Madison, Muriel (Brian) LaRose of Madison, Dana Olson of Rio, and Tanis Cuff of Rio; along with their families and many loving Youngs relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Michelle; and brother, Lacy Cuff.

A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, May 2, 2015, with a reception to follow. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the gathering on Saturday. A private interment will follow at a later date.
