Cat escapes carrier in JFK, misses flight to China
New York City Port Authority police are still searching for a cat which escaped its carrier on Friday while its owner was checking in at John F. Kennedy International Airport, according to United Press International.
Port Authority police shared a photo on Twitter of an officer scouring an overhead structure, looking for the elusive feline, Pepper.

Pepper’s grief-stricken owner, 29, had to make her flight to her new home in China without her beloved kitty companion, the owner’s friend told the New York Daily News.
“She was really upset,” the friend told the Daily News. “She was crying for hours. She had that cat for four years. I think she got the cat originally in California at a shelter.”
Several passengers at JFK have spotted Pepper, and police are still searching in the hope of reuniting the cat with her owner, the Daily News reported.
