Case of dog left tied up behind restaurant under investigation
GERMANTOWN, Wis. — Police are investigating an incident this weekend in which a dog was found tied up behind a restaurant in southeastern Wisconsin.
The Germantown Police Department said Sunday a dog was found tied to a tree in a wooded area near the Pizza Hut in Germantown, in the area of Pilgrim and Mequon roads.
Police said the brown dog may have been intentionally abandoned.
In a Facebook post, police said that if the owner had not abandoned the dog, it was OK, and that officers wanted to meet with the owner. Police said they would reunite the owner with the dog.

Police had not found the dog owner as of Monday morning. The department also said Monday the Washington County Human Society said someone has applied to adopt the dog
Germantown police also told residents that if they are unable to care for their pets, they should turn them over.
