MADISON- Caroline Bernice Ingram, age 89, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Meadowmere Assisted Living.

She was born on Sept. 24, 1922, in Monticello, the daughter of Walter Emil and Lydia Marian (Blum) Voegeli. Caroline grew up on the Voegeli farm, where she was proud of her Swiss heritage. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1940. She attended Whitewater State Teachers College for two years. On May 19, 1954, Caroline married Homer Warren Ingram of Jonesborough, Tennessee and together they moved to Augusta, Georgia and later to Madison. Caroline worked as an Administrative Clerk for Madison School System for 13 years, retiring in 1987. She was a very active member of First United Methodist Church and their craft group, Elks Auxiliary, UMW and also did volunteer work. Caroline enjoyed golfing, dancing with her husband, knitting, reading and she was known for her cooking, mastering the art of southern cooking for her husband. She enjoyed making her Fastnacht Kuechli, Bretzil and Pecan Rolls during the holidays.

Caroline is survived by her devoted husband, Homer; son, Tom (Sandy) Ingram; daughter, Nancy (Mike) Ludden; and four grandchildren, Matt Ingram, Michael, Gregory and Lydia Ludden. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Dick Voegeli.

Funeral services will be held at FIRST UNITED METHODIST, 203 Wisconsin Ave., Madison, at noon, on Saturday, April 21, 2012, with the Rev. Keith Schroerlucke presiding. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at church from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare or First United Methodist Church.
