Carol S. Pierick

MADISON-Carol S. Pierick, age 95, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012. She was born on June 23, 1917, in Fennimore, the daughter of William and Olga (Kirschner) Hirsch. She married William Pierick on Oct. 1, 1936, in Highland. Carol worked as a sales clerk for the Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul. She was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church.
Carol is survived by her sons, William (Virginia) Pierick, of Madison and Edward (Laurel) Pierick, of Belleville; daughters, Bernadette (Robert) Reed, of Escondido, Calif., and Anita (Jim) Engelberger, of Reedsburg; sister, Margaret McGuigan, of Madison; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren as well as many “adopted” extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1992; her parents; and her brother, Edward.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, with Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711.
Carol was a treasure to all fortunate to have crossed her path. She never knew a stranger. We will miss her easy smile, sense of humor, and incredible kindness.
