Most recently she was head of Marketing for the Wellness Center at Ho-Chunk Casino.

Carol was united in marriage to Gary Barreau on July 15, 2005 at the Burr Oak Winery in Mauston. Carol is survived by her husband Gary, children V. Glenn (Selena) Casper of Black River Falls, Kim (Joseph) Tomlinson of Chicago, Nicole (David) May of La Valle, Scott Barreau of Mauston, Brian Barreau of Mauston, grandchildren Devin and Cole Casper, Alexa Tomlinson, Amara and Aliya May, her mother Myrtle Doud of Mauston, her siblings Ted (Patrice) Doud of Fall Creek, Pat Mattson of Michigan, Joyce Dorgan of Chicago, Shirley (Ed) Such of St. Johns, IN, Connie (Richard) Wise of Morris, IL and many special cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her father and sister Gloria Wensel.

Carol was an avid gardener. She loved working outside in the yard and definitely had a “green thumb.” Carol was also an animal-lover. She would take in any animal that needed a home. This often included people. She was very generous and giving; she loved to give a gift and took pride in finding “just the right thing.” Carol had her own style; she was always well-dressed and “put-together.” She also had a flair for decorating. She was an excellent housekeeper and hostess and it was always a pleasure to spend time in her home. She will be greatly missed.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mauston.

Friends may call on Monday, June 25th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Crandall Funeral Home, Mauston. Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery at a later date.
