Calvin J. Schneller

STOUGHTON-Calvin J. Schneller, age 88, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Agrace HospiceCare due to complications from a stroke. He was born on Nov. 15, 1924, the youngest son of John and Emma Schneller. Calvin was an energetic, fun-loving family man who always had time to help everyone.

He will truly be missed by his wife of 65 years, Audrey; daughter, Becky (Bob) Greiber; son, Stan (Jill) Schneller; and three adoring grandchildren, Jeff Greiber, Jenny Canty, and Cali Opsahl. He was blessed with four beautiful great-grandchildren, Nolan and Brooks Canty, Greta Greiber, and Grayson (Calvin) Opsahl. He is further survived by a sister-in-law, Doris Hosig; brother-in-law, Denman Kramer; many nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Lilah May Brereton.

Calvin always had a smile for everyone and a twinkle in his eye. He was a generous man who was an amazing role model for his family. Calvin was an excellent wood worker; many of his projects adorn homes in Stoughton. He was a friend to all and loved taking walks, even occasionally with a dog at his side. Calvin’s love for roses made his yard and his children’s yards a work of art. He proved how you can be a private man and still make the world a better place by just being in it.

At his request, there will be no services held. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
