California sea lion dies at Milwaukee County Zoo
MILWAUKEE — A popular California sea lion at the Milwaukee County Zoo has died.
Slick was 30 years old and was featured at Oceans of Fun, the zoo’s marine mammal conservation and education facility. The zoo says he died Friday.
The zoo says Slick was believed to be the oldest living California sea lion in human care. Male sea lions live an average of 8 to 10 years in the wild.
Slick was the dominant male at Oceans of Fun and sired eight pups during his life.
