Buckeyes gear up for start of fall camp on Sunday

The focus on football at Ohio State is about to finally shift to the field.

The Buckeyes head into their first practice on Sunday with concerns — and also positives pointing to a run at a Big Ten or maybe even a national championship.

Coach Urban Meyer’s debut season a year ago resulted in a 12-0 record that came to an abrupt end because of an NCAA bowl ban from infractions committed under the deposed Jim Tressel.

Now the Buckeyes, including star quarterback Braxton Miller, have a better handle on the hurry-up offense. The defense has holes to fill but promising candidates stepping in.

Expectations are high, despite lingering questions about tailback Carlos Hyde and cornerback Bradley Roby.
