Brian E. Finnegan, 58, of Platteville died on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Platteville. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, where there will be a rosary at 3:45 p.m.; friends may also call from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Brian was born on September 3, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois, son of Thomas and Katherine (Pendergast) Finnegan. He was united in marriage to Lisa Miller on August 14, 1982 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dubuque. Brian graduated from Loras College in 1980 with a Bachelor in English Literature. He worked at Land’s End, Dodgeville for 30 years where he was in copy writing. He enjoyed reading, traveling and politics.
Brian is survived by his wife, Lisa; three children, Kate (Dan) Andersen, David (Kari) Finnegan, and Jonathan Finnegan; four grandchildren, Lauren Andersen, Violet, Nora and Nathan Finnegan; one sister, Mary (David) Clare, three brothers, Dan (Jean) Finnegan, Kevin (Katie) Finnegan and J (Margie) Finnegan; step-mother, Jean Finnegan; father and mother-in-law, Frank and Mary Anne Miller and many nieces and nephews. Brian was preceded in death by his parents.
