MILWAUKEE — The Brewers made another big move on Thursday, signing free agent outfielder Lorenzo Cain to a five-year deal worth $80 million.
The Brewers drafted Cain in 2004, and he played 43 games with the big club in 2010. He was traded to Kansas City as part of the Zack Greinke deal in 2011.
Cain made the All-Star team in 2015, and he was a key part of the Royals World Series championship that season.
He’s a .290 career hitter, and he’s regarded as one of the best defensive center fielders in the league.
Cain hit .300 with 15 homers last season. He also stole 26 bases in 28 attempts.
